I only know how to exist when I am wanted. Girls like us are hardly ever wanted, you know. We’re used up and we’re sad and drunk and perpetually waiting by the phone for someone to pick up and tell us that we did good. Well, you did good.

An entire Gaza neighborhood is decimated within an hour by Israeli air strikes. The video is further proof that Israel has no regard for the life of innocent Palestinians.
Israel attacked Gaza’s only power plant on Tuesday, leaving the Palestinian territory’s 1.8 million residents with no electricity or running water and opened the possibility of an even graver humanitarian crisis.
After three weeks of violence between Israel and Gaza, more than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli air and ground strikes. About 75 percent of Palestinian deaths have been civilians. Several thousand have been wounded and more than 100,000 displaced. Fifty-three Israeli soldiers have died, as well as three civilians.
Just look at the casualties. This is not a war, it is genocide.
- "Why did you decide to stay in Afghanistan to go to university, when you could have studied in the U.S. on a scholarship?"
"This is Afghanistan and I am an Afghan - I feel like not all of us should leave! I was happy to get a scholarship from an American university, but it was a dream come true when I received a full scholarship from a private Afghan university. I believe that there is so much I can learn and do if I am in Afghanistan. I can volunteer, I can pass on what I learn, I can be an activist, I can protect rights, I can vote, I can develop a business, I can make the unheard voice heard … and so much more!"
- "The happiest day of my life was when the Taliban left Kabul. I came out of my house and there were Afghan soldiers on the streets keeping the peace."
- "So what is the best part about the zoo?"
"I work for the Environmental Protection Agency of Afghanistan, so I want my children to have the chance to learn about the animals."
- "What advice do you have for parents?"
"I advise all parents to give their children education. Do not let them work for money when they are young."
- “So, can you tell me what you’re doing here?”
“This bike riding club is to encourage girls to ride here in Kabul. There are so many girls that won’t bike because they think that the culture won’t allow for it, and so they have to walk for long distances instead. Also, there’s not a lot of sports facilities for women, so biking is a great option to exercise.”
- Little humans of Kabul. They love that lion statue at the Kabul Zoo …
- "What’s your favorite part about flying kites?
"Fighting other kites!"
- "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
"A journalist. Like my mom."
Humanitarian Ceasefire/July 26, 2014
- 1000+ Palestinians have been killed
- 85+ bodies recovered from rubble during the 12-hour ceasefire
- Reports more bodies found but rescuers cannot reach in areas like Kuzaa
- Not enough time for bodies to recieve proper funerals/burial
Bet they don’t look at Palestinian girls like that.
soldiers aren’t monsters. They’re just doing their job
normally i don’t reblog this kind of thing but i have no idea how this utter nonsense got on my dash without some sort of correction and that “don’t be ignorant” post really got to me because it feels like this sort of thing should be common knowledge by now so
every version of this post should be reblogged with skepticism and corrections. your idiocy begins and ends when you rationalise, justify and misrepresent human suffering by posting cute pictures of soldiers carrying babies - with the caption “don’t be ignorant!” no less. this kind of mentality should not be mainstream, and you shouldn’t be okay with reblogging it. some soldiers are monstrous, because they’re doing monstrous work. any defense of it is unnecessary. your normalisation of a soldier’s work is acceptance of tyranny. it should be recognised when the orders they’re following are abhorrent.
Also, recall that time Israeli children were signing missiles during the 2006 war with Lebanon. If the above picture shows anything, it shows that IDF corrupts and indoctrinates children from a young age. these pictures of soldiers with kids they would kill in different circumstances (say if the kid was from the marginalized demographic or not being employed as pro-occupation propaganda) are so old, be it american soldiers in the numerous countries they have military presence in or Israeli soldiers.
Those pictures aren’t even fucking IDF soldiers, they’re American forces in Afghanistan and Iraq (which obviously isn’t any better than what’s pictured above), but the fact that you couldn’t even find pics to prove your asinine point is just……..
